Congratulations to Priscilla Muir who was named Teacher of the Year at Glen Arden Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year!  We are so proud of you, Priscilla!!

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

All are welcome to join in prayer, study and fellowship on Wednesday mornings from 9:30—10:30 am.  We hope you can join us on the first Wednesday in May as we start a new book

entitled The Ladies of Covenington by Joan Medicott.  This book was written by a local author who discovers grace and sisterhood.  The cost of the book is $7.  Please make your check payable to BUMC.  See you there!!

XYZ TRIP IN MAY

On Tuesday May 6th, the XYZ group will be going on a day trip to Gatlinburg, TN.  We will be going for lunch to The Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge and then to the Aquarium in downtown

Gatlinburg.  The price of the ticket is $22, but if we have 15 sign up, we will receive a group rate! Please sign up by April 30th on the bulletin board outside of Amanda’s office to reserve your spot!

KOINONIA SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

The Koinonia Sunday School Class has begun a new book: Chrisitianity and World Religions: Wrestling with Questions People Ask by Adam Hamilton. Our communities today are made up of an exciting mix of culture and religion that is different from what we’re used to.  The Koinonia class will seek to understand the differences and diversity in the world around us.  We will look at Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity!  Please join us!

TEACHERS NEEDED

We are in need of teachers and helpers for Vacation Bible School.  A list of needed volunteers is posted at our Communications Center.  If you are willing to help, please sign up.  We will have a training session before VBS. Also, we will need summer Sunday School teachers to volunteer to give our regular teachers a break; we will be studying the miracles of Jesus.  Please sign up at the Communications Center as well, if you are willing to help teach for just one week this summer.  Ten volunteers would cover the entire summer!

 BUMC WALKING CLUB

We meet Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm at Fletcher Park to walk together!!  Call Amanda if you have any questions!  Any one from the church is welcome to join us!!  Let’s support each other in our efforts to get in shape and live better lives together!!
