Our Search Committee, Staff-Parish Relations Committee and Administrative Council commend to you our new Christian Educator, Meghan Sweeney!

Meg comes to us most recently from Wesley UMC in Vienna, VA.  Prior to that Meg held Christian Education positions at First UMC, Marion and Mills River UMC.

Meg holds a BA degree in History and Community Service Administration from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University.  (Among UM’s, the graduate Christian Education program at Pfeiffer is second to none!)

Meg’s church professional experience is grounded in youth and children’s ministry and that’s just what we have asked her to do at Biltmore UMC. “Job 1 and 1A” for Meg will be keeping our vibrant youth ministry strong and growing, and cultivate our many younger believers (children) and their families.  She will give oversight to our program and ministry from nursery age through high-school age. Meg has already met some of the many fine folk at Biltmore who are active in these ministries, and we are anxious for her learning and familiarizing to continue!

One of the best ways to help our new Christian Educator is to introduce yourself and say, “Glad you are here! How can I help?”  Meg is already meeting with our Children’s Council, our youth leaders, Church Staff and other church leaders to hear our hopes, dreams, plans and expectations. And, she has plenty of her own to share!  We think you will find her enthusiasm and energy contagious!

Please join me in offering our very best Biltmore welcome to Meghan Sweeney. What can you do to cultivate rich soil for Meg’s ministry among us to thrive and grow?

Meg’s first official Sunday is August 24th.  She’ll be “circulating” all morning and will be available following the 10:55 worship service to meet and greet everyone.

WELCOME, MEG!

P.S.  Another good reason to join us for worship August 24 … our youth missioners will share from their experience last month on the Appalachia Service Project.  See you in church!
