WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Wednesday
Morning Bible Study starts back up on September 3rd at 9:30 am in Room 2-R. Our
first book of the fall session is
I Believe in Jesus
by Minerva Carcano.
This study, led by Pastor Maria, renews the reader’s minds and hearts to the
gift of faith in Jesus Christ and answers probing questions such as, “Whose
faith counts?” This book also counts for the UMW Reading Program, in addition
to offering the engaging and inspirational writing of Bishop Carcano. Each book
costs $8.00 and will be available in the church office. Childcare will be
provided.
Women of any
age with this hour available are invited to join us in our study, in prayer
concerns for our church family, and in the friendships that move us across age
barriers and establish connections that give us a sense of “belonging”.
SHORT-TERM STUDY
Each Wednesday
night in October at 6:45 pm in Room 2-R, we will offer discussion on Tony
Campolo’s new book Red
Letter Christians: a citizen’s guide to faith and politics.
This book examines many of the hot-button issues facing our country from the
perspective of Jesus and the red-letter words in the Bible. These topics
include the environment, war, AIDS crisis, Palestine, education, gun control,
the role of government and choosing the right kind of candidate. No matter
where you fall on the political spectrum, Campolo will make you think, pray and
act.
SERVICE OF HEALING AND
WHOLENESS
Starting on
Wednesday, September 10th, each week at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary there will be a
Service of Healing and Wholeness. Pastor Maria and guitarist Kevin Moree will
offer an atmosphere of openness and invitation to God’s grace through praise,
prayer and healing. We are so grateful for Kevin and his willingness to share
his gifts of voice, music and songwriting. We hope you will join us as we
gather to offer prayers of healing for our hearts, the church and the world as
we deepen our faith and walk with Christ.
